Description

Kyreis through the years. Age thirty was excluded because I didn't like this picture cx but you can see her at that age in Skull's story. Also, there is a little shift in color from forty and fifty, that's just because they were drawn on seperate pages and days. She turned out brighter somehow in the last one; it was accedental, but almost cool, as if she is emerging from the darkness of her past or whatever |D

Here's Ky's backstory
---- ---- ---- ----

Kyreis had a relatively normal upbringing; being borne of two unwed parents, and growing to be fiercely independant, she spent most of her time as a child alone. She learned things quickly on her own, and would even deliberately play dumb when others tried to teach her; she prefered to do things her own way, and at her own pace.

One evening, as her clan shifted in their nomadic trail, she found herself to be genuinely alone; they had left her behind, and she, at least for the time being, was relived. Kyreis was so happy to finally be on her own, making her own descisions, and living in the way that she had always wanted to try.

In the following years, she grew regretful; the forest had left her feeling more alone than even she could handle, and she found a bitter taste in her mouth every time she thought about her clan. She was far too young to be alone in the world, but pride kept her from seeking out her parents; they had been overly strict, she resolved in herself, and condecending looks toward a returning daughter was more than she could bear right now.

Social interaction was few and far between, and she needed some to keep her sanity in check. After a while of searching, Kyreis found a small road that frequented weary travelers, and she grinned at her own cleverness. This would be a perfect spot to set up a semi-permanent camp, and ambush tradesmen as they passed through the forest.

At first Kyreis was clumsy and failed to get an upperhand of any sort, in reguards to robbing the occasional passerby, but soon she taught herself tricks. As she grew in stature and strength, things became easier for her, and she got bored. Moving on to another road, this one more populated that the first, she continued to progress in her personal training of the mind and body; learning of the secret remedies and supplies that the forest had to offer.

The days, and months, started to blur together, and Kyreis realized that she needed something more in her life; an even bigger challenge to sate her boredom. She happened upon a group of fiercesome creatures, one evening, and stalked them for a while to identify their habits and weaknesses. After a while, she felt as if she had gathered enough information, but before she could do her own sneaking they caught her scent.

A chase ensued, and they captured her for but a moment before she disappeared into the night. It was cold and dark, her eyes starting to fade; a figure revived her a few days later, and she reacted poorly. The feline had held up his paws as if to surrender, and there was a moment of deafening silence between them. He had saved her life, undoubtedly; did that mean she now owed him, she pondered.

Kyreis and the cat named Skulls -because of his black and white markings- grew to have an inseparable partnership; them both loving adventure, and having a drive to sate any hint of boredom that might come along. They robbed merchantmen together, drank all the mead from a nearby cabin in one night, and sang together in the starlight. That is, until Skulls was haulted by his ticking mortality; cats don't live that long, Kyreis reminded herself over his fresh grave, but in the moment it seemed as if they would have been together forever.

She grew bitter that he had left her all alone again, and took out her anger on any creature that would cross her path; uncerimoniously slaughtering even the most small of animals. She rampaged through the forest, until one morning, she woke up in disgust of her thoughts and actions; this is not what Skulls would have wanted for her. She then vowed to never raise her hand to another innocent creature again, in tribute to her dear friend.

The years passed slowly for Kyreis, but she found a place at a nearby theives guild; she had heard of them while returning to her previous robbing routine, and she had taken the knowledge as a sort of bribe. Still holding fast to her dislike for authority, she made a habit of alienating her superiors, and never officially gained a rank higher than Footpad. This, however, did not deter her from learning what she could by simply observing the other members; she quickly snatched up the skill of pickpocketing, but could never get the hang of lockpicking.

Kyreis had always been adept at hiding in the shadows, or even plain sight, so she often accomponied theives guild members to their jobs without them knowing. At least, so she thought. She was caught once or twice, and repremanded for her reckless behaviour.

There was such an occassion that she tailed one of the higher-ups, and was spotted. He vehemently lectured her about sticking to her own jobs, and when she showed no remorse, he declared that she would have to be removed from the thieves guild altogether. Kyreis huffed, knowing that his word was not law, but instead of fighting it, she proclaimed that she had grown bored of the clan anyway.

She set out on her own again; the stone pathways and wooden flooring were harsh on her hooves, but she was determined to not be alone in the forest anymore. She would have to find someone or something to help with her unsatiable boredom; a group of adventurers perhaps? Could be interesting; she pondered the implications.
